Old Colorado City is an area of town on the west side of Colorado Springs that was founded in 1859. It was the first permanent town in the Pikes Peak Region and is now known for its charm and quaint west side feel. Most homes in the area were built from the late 1800’s to the early 1900’s so you’ll find many Bungalows and Victorian style homes. It hosts one of the best farmers markets, which runs from June to the end of October and has many local restaurants and bars to choose from! If you live here, you’ll feel like you’re in a separate little town. It’s a step back in time, a slowed down lifestyle, just how they like it.
Gold Hill Mesa, which is a community just on the other side of Highway 24, is also included in within these results due to its close proximity. Within the past 10 years, this new development has become a new construction icon for the west side. Connected by green belts and walking paths that lead to the community center, they’ve been able to keep the theme of being able to live, work, and shop in a close knit community. Common summer evenings are filled with concerts in the park and socializing with neighbors for barbecue’s, all with amazing views right in the foothills of Pikes Peak!
